What does the fate of the favourite tell us?
38% of two-year-olds running in non-handicaps is a high proportion under the circumstances. Perhaps this is because the high concentration of top-class trainers and punters around Newmarket leads to a very perceptive betting market with a lot of insight into the juvenile runners from the various training yards. It is worth bearing this in mind when considering the top 2-y-o races.
