Huzzah on the cards at Newbury

The flat racing season is well under way and HUZZAH looks good value to provide our first winning betting tip.

It runs in the Dubai Duty Free Spring Cup at Newbury, which features many of the horses that ran in the curtain-raising Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster three weeks ago.

As such, we’ve had a look at most of these horses – and so has the handicapper. It’s tempting to go with Zaahid, second in the Lincoln and a 12/1 winner for A Cunning Punt last May.

But the Barry Hills-trained colt will be well-fancied at Newbury and so is unlikely to be good value. He also carries an extra nine pounds to his Doncaster trip, and so the betting tip has to be another horse from the Hills stable, Huzzah, whom the handicapper has been kinder to despite his only finishing half a length or so behind Zaahid in the Lincoln.

It’s tempting to go for Filipando, who finished between the two Hills horses at Doncaster, but he may well be drawn too low for this race.
