Royal Ascot could see coronation for Spacious

SPACIOUS was runner-up in the 1,000 Guineas at the start of June but is tipped to go one better in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot on Friday.

Jamie Spencer’s mount was beaten by half-a-length by the much-fancied Natagora at Newmarket (see video below), but finished in front of four of the horses that she will take on again in Friday’s renewal of the Coronation.

A bunch of horses finished together in that race, and it’s easy to make an argument for another progressing to beat Spacious – but the way that the James Fanshawe-trained filly stayed on suggests she will be the one to beat.

Spacious is currently available at 7/2 at Paddy Power – and, after today’s betting tip won, I’ll be sticking to reasonable stakes in what could be a great race.
