Babe can make Ladies Day come early for Royal Ascot punters
By Matt | June 17, 2008
LADIES DAY can come to Royal Ascot a day early on Wednesday if Hayley Turner wins the Queen Mary Stakes on board Bahamian Babe.
The Group 2 sprint for two-year-old fillies looks perfect for Hayley and Bahamian Babe: the pair won on similar ground at York at the start of June.
Former amateur champion Hayley Turner is fast becoming a favourite with horse racing fans – but it’s unlikely the subject of this betting tip will be sent off with the shortest odds.
Danehill Destiny looks like it will be the favourite on the form book, but – as SkyBet’s racing preview suggests – Bahamian Babe can make it four wins in a row for her connections. And, with 11/1 offered at several bookies, it is a decent each-way shout for those who don’t mind taking on favourites.
For punters it will be worthwhile just to see a decent bit of eye-candy in the winners’ enclosure. Hayley Turner might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but she’s certainly easier to look at than Johnny Murtagh.
Selection
- 3 pts each-way BAHAMIAN BABE (11/1, general) to win the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot
